Associate Professor, Artificial Intelligence Specialization, Natural Language Processing

Position Summary:  The Department of Artificial Intelligence, College of Technology and Business, at Riyadh Elm University, Saudi Arabia, invites applications for a full-time Associate Professor position specializing in Image Processing within the domain of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The successful candidate will join a dynamic and rapidly growing academic environment, contributing to high-quality research, innovative teaching, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging lectures, labs, and tutorials in AI, Image Processing, and related areas using modern teaching methods.

• Supervise undergraduate and master’s students in final year projects, theses, and dissertations.

• Contribute to curriculum design and continuous academic program improvement aligned with industry trends.

• Conduct high-quality research in AI, Image Processing, and Computer Vision, with publications in top venues.

• Organize academic events such as workshops, seminars, and conferences to enhance departmental visibility.

• Collaborate across disciplines and with external academic and industry partners for teaching and research.

• Integrate AI tools like chatbots and automated grading systems into classroom teaching to boost engagement.

• Participate in academic service roles, including committees, policy development, and accreditation efforts.

Required Qualifications:

• PhD in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, or a closely related field.

• Proven research expertise in Image Processing and AI techniques (e.g., deep learning, pattern recognition, computer vision, generative models).

• Strong publication record in leading AI and image processing venues.

• Demonstrated experience in securing and managing research grants.

• Proven excellence in teaching and student supervision at the university level.

• Experience in mentoring junior faculty or research staff is desirable.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Strong research record in NLP with publications in top-tier conferences and journals.

• Expertise in modern NLP methods, including transformers and large language models.

• Experience in teaching, student supervision, and interdisciplinary or industry collaboration.

• Proven ability to secure research funding and contribute to open-source or applied NLP projects.
